FALSE. The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) and Cardinal Pablo Virgilio “Ambo” David endorsed a list of political candidates for the May 12 elections.

FACT. The CBCP did not endorse any political candidates. The letter circulating online is fabricated, and no official communication has been released naming preferred aspirants.

The fake letter uses CBCP letterhead and religious phrasing to appear legitimate, but it contains non-standard language and a suspicious mix of political names.

The Roman Catholic Bishop of Kalookan Facebook page publicly debunked the claim, with Cardinal David himself clarifying that the Church does not endorse candidates.

This tactic attempts to manipulate Catholic voters by fabricating ecclesiastical support.

The CBCP urges Filipinos to vote based on conscience and moral discernment—not disinformation.
