FALSE: Vice President Sara Duterte will be arrested after receiving a subpoena over alleged assassination threats against President Marcos.

FACT: Duterte is not set to be arrested. The sedition and grave threat complaints filed by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)  are still under evaluation and subject to a preliminary investigation by the Department of Justice (DOJ).

The allegations stem from Duterte’s November 2024 online remarks, which the NBI claims may constitute grave threat and incitement to sedition.

Duterte received a subpoena and submitted a counter-affidavit in response. She has also confirmed her participation in DOJ proceedings.

The claim originated from a misleading video by Mavs TV, which misrepresented the legal process and falsely equated a subpoena with arrest.

Arrests require court-issued warrants, not merely complaints.
